Description
The Tapestry of Stories is a hand painted map of stories and holds audio snippets recorded during research at our hubs in India, Uganda, Kenya, Finland, Thailand and Sápmi. The visuals for the tapestry capture textures, patterns and abstracted landscapes that represent and bring together our different research hubs. There will also be ambient audio snippets from our research hubs. Visitors could come close to it and place their hands over the audio sensors for 3–4 seconds for an amplified audio experience. These audio snippets have been collected over two years of research and the map builds on and acknowledges the work and voices of community members, local partners and the research teams.
Data Source
Field recordings and excerpts from research across multiple countries.
Technical Requirements
Wall space, internet, power, spots. We will also need some budget for production.
Project Status & Timeline
We will need to remake the whole work, as the current piece is on exhibit at the Wellcome Trust in London.
