Description

  • A crowdsourced map of ferals superimposed over Bangalore city map. Ferals are essentially lie in the third space, inbetween the domesticated and the wild; it bears the marks of both, but it doesn’t belong in either. For instance weeds growing over ruins/ garbage.
  • The project would consist of a phygital exhibt where anyone could essentially add notes (images + sonic pieces) These would be then tagged and become living feral-datascapes (Pls refer to the attached pdf for details on ferals and feralscapes)
  • People would interact with the feralscapes, they can explore the dataset through the tags and add their own photos/ sonic pieces
  • Mapping ferals, feralising processes and agents could help us understand, feel and relate more with ferals around us. It could help uncover and develop strategies of power reversal to non human actors and agents.
  • This projects sits locally in Bangalore and is an attempt to rethink and visualise the interactions of human and non human and question what resistance and adaption means in the future.
  • It sits inbetween the categories of "More than human data" and "Adaptation and Resilience" as the idea of ferals is to recognize, notice and question interactions of human and non-human and how the wild and the ddomestic meets and interacts.
