Digging Up a Story: Building Exhume.link with LLMs

So there I was sitting with friends at breakfast, the feedback I had gotten for vizchitra workshop proposal I had submitted heavy in my heart. Honestly it was good feedback, I had been out of the data viz space (or rather never been in it?) as a conscious decision after graduation was to take the choice to enter into your product design.

How would I be able to do that? That's when the idea to make Exhume.link came to me. But building it was not straightforward no matter how easy Claude made it to be. Over the course of the next few days, I speed ran through the process; from brainstorming on the narrative, creating multiple flows and defining the visual style – all with the help of LLMs.

This talk is about that journey of making exhume.link, lessons learned from working with LLMs and putting it out there all in the span of 1 week.
